Step-by-Step Method
1. Prep Oven & Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper.
2. Make the Crust & Crumble
In a food processor, pulse together flour and granulated sugar. Add cold butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3. Press Crust
Press two-thirds of the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
4. Prepare Apple Filling
Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Spread evenly over the crust.
5. Cook Apple Cider Topping
In a small saucepan, combine cornstarch and apple cider. Cook until thickened, then stir in vanilla extract. Pour over the apple layer.
6. Add Crumble Topping
Sprinkle the remaining flour mixture over the top.
